This evening when I was doing the horses we heard a roar in the distance getting louder and then 2 quadbikes and 2 motorbikes came flying down the bridle path which is right next to our yard. they then turned around at the bottom of the path (where you have to cross a road) and came back past us. We yelled at them on the way back (not only because they're not allowed on the path, but they had freaked all the horses out) but failed to get the reg plates.

I then decided to call the farmer whose fields the bridle path leads on to. We could still hear them in the distance and we thought they were flying around his fields (we get our hay off him, so in our best interest). Only turned out that he knew exactly who they were and was FURIOUS!!! (one was either his nephew/farmhand, I couldn't quite tell as he wasn't happy)

Wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall when he got his hands on them I don't think! But we were very pleased that it isn't likely to happen again! :)

Good on you! I had to pass motorcross bikes today but I'm glad to say that was my choice as they were on their specially designed bit of woodland just for them!

Good on you :) My brother and dad have motorbikes but would dream of going on private land or bridlepaths! I have seen two quads on the road whilst I've been hacking Red, one passed me twice and was extremely considerate both times while the other drove past really fast and revved it really loud- I was riding Red with one hand on the reins and he didn't even flinch- quad rider had to do I triple take when his attempt to scare Red failed :D I was so smug that day :p Mopeds can be quite bad too, I have one so thankfully Red is used to them but local teens with them like to rev the t*ts of them when they go past

Recently a motorbiker was killed our way after venturing onto farm land.

Farmer was informed bikers were churning up his fields and sadly the outcome was that after giving chase his vehicle came into contact with one of them and the biker died.

Very sad for the biker and his family, very sad for the farmer, all of whom shall never have the lives they once had.

Perhaps if permission is sought from a landowner first, bikers could have a good, safe time, ensuring the safety of others too but many do not trouble to ask.
