I have a few haas brushes but wondered which brushes were in the black set so I can see if I need to buy the set or only one or two. Also, which order do you use them in? Thanks.

I have five has brushes already but none of the ones that are in the black set. I am so tempted. My horse is a very dark buckskin so it's hard to know which set would be best for her really. She goes a dark mink colour in Spring, and then a dark pewter in summer but has a lot of silver hair in winter.

Go with the texture of her coat.
On the other thread tallyho put up a list of the colours that described the coat textures - sensitive soft coats for chestnuts, greasier black coats for example.
As yours is a buckskin then she's got chestnut genes in there through the cream dilute I'd guess (my buckskin Welsh did, and had a very sleek coat) I don't have any sets, just the odd brush or two. The buckskin gal loved their white horsehair brushes (mine has a blue back) The Fell who has a very silky but denser coat likes the blue leather-backed one. Neither overly keen on stronger dandy brushes so the 'schimmel' is kept for the Dartmoor hill pony who thinks it's great (was interested to see on the list posted that this tallies with the sets!!!)

Buckskins are cream over bay, so no chestnut. Coat colour doesnt make any difference to which brushes you use, thats just all marketing hype

Thanks. Coat texture makes more sense. My girl is a dark seal brown base with the cream gene so as Frankie Cob says, no chestnut. Interesting yours liked the softer brushes. Mine gets annoyed when I use the soft ones except for her face. She likes really rough scratchy brushes used with plenty of force behind them. She's a very itchy horse. She therefore enjoys the first couple of brushes and then gets frustrated when I get to the softer polishing ones because they are not giving her that satisfying scratch. One of my liveries is getting the black set for her very dark seal brown horse so I'll give them a try before I buy, I think.
