My intsructor fitted it for me, but when riding it twists? Any ideas???

What type of hackamore?
The clunky 'English' style ones do have a tendency to go close to the eye, perhaps you have yet to become accustomed to it and are maybe using more contact on one side?

By the limited info you have supplied I would think you have it to loose.hackermores need to be fitted fairly tight and you check and release check and release not a steady pull contact.
