Sorry, self indulgent but i'm just so happy! After an accident I had last year where I ended up injured and police out searching for horses I have been to nervous to hack out, tried several times but I tensed up and burst out crying so gave up.
Well today I had a lesson booked and we got on the subject why I won't hack. We did a few bit's in the school and then he opened the gate and said we are going out! Anyway to cut a long story short we went out for about 45mins, past all sorts of things, had several trots and even popped over a log twice (although it did go wrong once!) and Pharaoh was so good

I was so nervous but was told to keep talking to him and it worked. So thanks to my excellent instructor and brilliant pony I have a huge grin on my face lol.
The only photo taken...

Sounds like a fab instructor, well done you, that is a real achievement. I think many of us on here can totally empathise with nerves hacking out. I was shaking like I leaf when I went to ride this afternoon, and that was in company! I never used to be like it, but we had the most wonderful little 20minute hack, so I am happy bunny like you, and my girl was sound

That instructor sounds just like what you need

Fantastic, you must be thrilled, I battled with hacking nerves after a fall so I know where you are coming from. What a wonderful instructor you have, and glad that Pharaoh was good too.

Thank you

and he really is great, have known him for a few years and he has helped so much (he used to ride Pharaoh as Pharaoh needed someone more experienced sometimes) and has really helped me gain the confidence to ride Pharaoh properly rather than sit there worrying that he might do something. Well done to you though! It's so lovely

Congratulations, and well done, bet it felt fantastic. You have a great instructor and a fab Pharaoh looking after you!

Well done!!! I am still battling with my fears, not ridden since november now an feel like i've gone right back to square one but i'm keeping at it lol
Its tough to deal with my fears but the fear of not riding ever again is greater!!!
Keep up the good work and happy hacking

Aw, it's definitely worth working at though. I've been lucky enough to have supportive people (and i suppose a tolerant pony!) so i've not been forced to do things to soon. One step at a time always works

good luck to you though

and welcome!

That's great news. What a lovely instructor to take you for a hack and realise how important that is to you rather than just keep focussing on your flatwork.
