Since Tuesday I have been quite lazy as it's felt too hot to ride really. By the time I bring the horses in, they are sweating and lethargic just stood in their field (even standing in the shade!) so I just haven't been able to muster the necessary 'get up and go'. But last night, I had a brain wave and bravely set my alarm for just before 6am.

I was up and in the saddle by 6.30am and it was lovely! Like I had the whole world to myself :)

I think Dulcie was a bit surprised to be out so early, but I think she enjoyed it too!

Here is my view of the world this morning....the best way to start the day before going and sitting in a sweltering office!

Definitely the way to go! I was on by 5.30am the other morning and it was lovely. Felt less agitated at work as I had already ridden and wasn't desperately thinking about finishing work and getting to the farm.

Planned to do it again this morning but had that Friday tiredness and never made it! Will ride late tonight when the heat has disappeared.

Yay for early mornings!

Sadly for me it is definitely the way forward (I'm really not a morning person!) and I have to do this whenever it gets hot as my welshie just cannot deal with heat at all poor thing.

I go at that time just to avoid the traffic - its got busier and busier over the years on the road i have to go on, 6am is the only time I can have a peaceful hack! Sadly my pony is the opposite, lovely and chilled in the heat and hyper in the cool mornings, so he is very bright and breezy out hacking!
