Hi All

I have finally been given permission to work from home and now have the chance to relocate back to friends and family. My new problem is that I have no idea of the hacking in that area. Looking at a map Bodmin looks good but then I read about a CROW? and Dartmoor is covered in danger areas?

What I would like to know is if there is a good areas to concentrate on? I have friends and family in Liskeard and Gunnislake so 30mins search area would be my preference.

Where to go and where to avoid?

Many thanks

I've not lived there but have boxed to the moors around Pensilva (back of Liskeard way) and the hacking seemed superb around there. I did however live at Harrowbarrow nr Callington and whilst the lanes were good to ride around there wasn't a great deal of off road hacking.

I currently have my horses about 20mins hack to the moors but also have a fair bit of woods to ride in and I must say the woods always wins hands down, usually due to the weather conditions not being suitable to ride on the moors.

So, if I were you I would find somewhere that has access to woods and the moors for the best of both worlds.

It might be worth speaking to the local riding schools, such as Tokenbury at Pensilva as they would have a good idea.

Thank you, that is really great. I know the Pensilva parking area well as I have walked my dogs there. That link to the riding school is really useful also. :D

May I ask what woods are ride-able near that area? it's not that clear on the maps.

Many thanks

I too used to live in Metherell, village before Harrowbarrow. Again off road riding is very limited. Used to ride to the woods to Gunnislake and the one before that, name escapes me.
I now live in Yelverton and am spoilt for off road riding.
