Two months ago my mum and I bought a thoroughbred gelding of 14yrs to share. At his last home he was hacked out regularly and was fine. But with us, at his new home, we had two bad experiences where on the first my mum had to get off and on the second I fell off which lead to him galloping across the field with another pony running at his side (long story!). Since then he has been nervous hacking and we've had to simply have one of us riding with the other leading. But just a few days ago my mum went out with my instructor and one other girl. They had not gone 20yards up the track when he started doing small bucks and side stepping completely refusing to go any further. He was at the back so I wondered if that was the cause for his antics. But is this possible or do you have any other ideas or advice???
