I have been working hard with my newish horse to get her happily hacking alone despite mud etc. Our yard is directly on a busy road but normally you can just cross right over and go into feild opposite. This feild is cultivated but farmer usually leaves a track through for horses. This year it's been very deeply ploughed right to hedge and no track left so it's basically impassable. Ok so next best is 100 yards along main road and into another feild - been doing this for a few weeks but now this feild is equally deeply ploughed there is a narrow track but they have cut off a the bridge over a deep ditch with knee deep plough and a new drainage ditch has been dug cutting you off from the path by the hedge - so feild two is impassable. So next best option is to ride down main road into village. Again I will do this all be it a bit reluctantly at the weekend particularly Sunday it's ok as not many lorries. But now they have placed a Hugely loud bird scarer just by the road side just in feild so have to hope is it not triggered just as bus is doing 70mph in opposite direction. Forth option is almost a mile on main road away from village this is a fast section of A road and carries a lot of traffic - too scared to ride that way. Today I chose to lead through the feild with least plough to cross but both horse and I struggled to keep our feet it was half way up her cannons in many places. Tomorrow I think I will try leading down road past bird scarer and getting on further up - there is a narrow verge ... But it's just so frustrating I just want a peaceful hack round village! Ok moan over I feel much better!!! Thanks for 'listening' !!!
