I have just bought myself a 2nd hand 3.5 ton box and am wanting to get my cob out to some more interesting places for hacking. Currently located in Dogmersfield where its just all road work and not very exciting! I plan on getting him out to Yateley common, frensham, alice holt and horseshoe lake but I haven't got a clue which car parks allow for horseboxes! Anyone got any ideas on parking and any other areas that are good for a nice long hack?

Ranmore Common - Dorking, on the Downs. Its where we are and the hacking is fantastic. I In terms of parking, while there is a pretty big NT car park at the top of the common (which means you pay) it does get very busy at the weekend. You would be better off to go the second smaller car park further down that not many people know about. Do NOT park on the verges... there is a nice little ditch running along most of it and we seem to have cars constantly getting stuck in them! My favourite hack which I never tire is hacking up towards Polesden Lacey, just be warned that you will hack under a couple of footpath bridges and its worth shouting up to make sure there no children waiting to say hello as you go under (can truly testify that the result of that is... electrifying!)
