Also for showing you would wear a tie not a stock. I would wait til you have the jacket to decide tie colour as normaly you pick out a colour from the overcheck of your jacket

do you wear a white shirt with a tie or an off-white shirt (sorry I'm showing my ignorance about showing!).
also if you take the overcheck for the colour of the tie - does that mean the tie is just one colour or is that the colour for the tie detail on a paler colour (does that make any sense!)
I have a bright (almost orange) chestnut and wear a green hacking jacket with a bottle green tie with small gold/mustard spots on. I wear canary jodphurs (I think their a kind of yellow beige) and the same colour shirt.
In showing most people do not wear white shirts with ties - usually cream, blue, yellow - pastel colours. Take a look at some of the showing websites to get a better idea of what type of ties. My favourite was a yellow one with red rocking horses on it, but it unfortunately it no longer goes with any of my jackets. I now have a burgundy one with gold bits on it.
