Hiya,

I have just moved to the area and wondered if anyone knows of good hacking around Laytham/Foggathorpe or fancied meeting for a ride? My horse is a TB and (usually) very good in company so happy just plodding or doing faster/fittening work.

Hi. You must be very local to me!! lol
There is the rail trail which runs from Foggathorpe to either Bubwith or Holme on Spalding Moor, in the opposite direction. But other than that there are very few bridleways around us. The roads are fairly quiet but you do get a few idiots!
Mine are currently in Seaton Ross but there isn't a huge amount of hacking there either. I sometimes come up from Seaton Ross, cross the A163 onto the rail trail then come off at Foggathorpe and head to Laytham then back round into Seaton Ross. xx

Hi I'm very local to you, have to agree with chickeninabun the hacking around here is not brilliant, the disused railway is about the only decent bridleway, there is also one from Laytham to Ellerton but you have to go on the B1228 for about 3/4 mile and it's a really bendy bit of that road so it's a case of get on it and trot on!
We are lucky that if you have transport you don't have to go far to get on to the wolds and some stunning riding up there. The local bridleways group is pretty good and have an organised monthly group ride from April to October/November depending on the weather. If you want to message me you email address I can send you some details
