The yard I'm at is situated off of a busy road and in order to get anywhere you have to hack along it. My lad was never happy with meeting HGV's etc and to be honest we'd had some close calls so I stopped going out because we were both getting very nervous -I didn't think I ever wanted to ride along that rode again. However,today I hacked out in company albeit on a friends horse and although we met several lorries and 2 double decker buses he didn't bat an eyelid and was an absolute star & worth his weight in gold!! My confidence has had a huge boost & just emphasised that a prority in buying a new horse is that it must be excellent in traffic
