i've just broken my horse in and want to start riding out soon. I know to ride out you need to pay and get one of them badge things but where do i get it from?

Maybe you have a toll ride or private park (like Windsor where you need a permit) but you don't generally need a badge to go hacking!

to be fair you do need permits in some bits of the country depending on which authority owns the land e.g. you have to buy an annual permit to ride on Epping forest. Is that what the OP is thinking of?

nooo haha maybe just my area or something cause everyone i know who rides out has a badge with a number and pays like 40 a year or something

Are you talking about hacking out in England? I don't know of any badge system or paying anyone. Or do you mean on certain Farmers Land? I think there is a scheme with some farmers about paying them an annual fee and they give you a badge which proves you are allowed to hack on there land. Don't know anything about it though.

TROT also uses a badge scheme in the way of a headband.
Not sure why everyone thought the OP was making a joke, depending on where you are you'd need to join some affiliation to use land unless there are enough public bridle paths to use.
Certainly most forests require you to be a member of an organisation to ride there.
