Ish. As far as I know they don't have their own stud book but are only closely related to the hackney horse rather than being the same breed necessarily.

Just reading Country Life (don’t even ask?) and they describe them as a horse in the article and a pony with the photo. Just wanted to check before I get picky!

I’m pretty sure they are one and the same, Sunbeam hackney stud used to be just round the corner from my house. It no longer exists but they are beautiful creatures

Yes, very much the same but different sizes ? my friend has two, a big one 15.2ish she rides and a little one maybe 12h which will be driven

Yes same breed although the ponies are generally finer built than the horses (similar to a Welsh B). Also the ponies are 14hh and under so mine who was 14.2 was a hackney horse. She rode like a horse rather than a pony too.
