driving home from stables last night down this country road when mum suddenly stopped and said theres a horse in the road. got out and there was a piebald cob running around the road really scared.
there was a man who had stopped in front of us and we reckoned it had escaped from the gyspy camp the other side of the hedge. i tried to catch him while the man turned round to go and tell the gypseys their horse was loose. i couldnt get the horse as he was really scared and i was more worried about him going further up the road so i just spoke to him in a calm voice.
anyway he was just standing in the middle of the road when down the hill i could see a van coming towards us. of course he wouldnt know their was a horse there and the road was pitch black so i panicked! grabbed my phone out of my pocket and turned on the flashlight and started waving it up and down trying to catch the drivers eye.
thankfully he saw the light from a distance and stopped!! the horse then bolted down the road into a field thankfully and then these men turned up with headcollers and ropes to get him back.
it really did scare me cos god knows what would have happened if i didnt have a torch on my phone but it had a happy ending at least.
