Sage is our 2 yr old female rottie and is completely mad. She charges round all day long and is rarely still for more than a nanosecond. She has been slightly lame since end of Jan which I put down to her crazy antics. However it has got much worse over the last few days so trip to vets. Several xrays later she has a fractured shoulder!! He thinks she fell with her leg under her and damaged a tendon holding this little bone in place, She has to stay quiet (!!?) for a month to six weeks and then go back. Any ideas short of strong tranquillisers?

Cage rest when not supervised? Kongs to chew? Sounds like a total nightmare, OH's lab was a bit of a grump when he had a few days on lead walks only as he was a bit lame. Also pulled like anything on the lead. Hope she gets better soon.

Good luck!

Thanks guys. Problem with caging her is I have two other dogs and it will drive her crazy seeing them loose and her not. She is two and has never been in a cage in her life so think it may be way too stressful for her. Have had her out with me and the other two but have had her on an extendable lead whilst I did the yard. She could always see me and I moved her so she was always near me and it seemed to work OK. Bless them the others stayed near her. Don't think it will last six weeks though!
