Loved it, out for about 3 hours or more, hardly anyone around along the river, trotted and cantered everywhere, ended up at Re-Farm to try some boots on him, but they not open till 11.00 and it was only 10.30 :(, he doesn't do waiting so we left empty handed or footed

Utility room is full of damp smelly tack drying out :p

Had some of the best rides in the rain :)

I think you must be kidding! If I went out in this, all my horse woudl do is be annoying and keep trying to turn his bum into it. It had slowed and I was tempted to go out, but now its tipping it down again :(

Stair rods :(

Yep I was out in the pouring rain at 7am this morning...also in derbyshire! There was no one on the roads and loads of puddles that my horse loves sloshing through! I was soaked right through and had to put everything including bridle (synthetic) into the wash as it all stank! But I was glad I got out, even in the rain!

Went out at 7am and there was no-one around. It was foggy but not too bad. Glad I did go out then because its not stopped raining here for any length of time!! Got back to the yard just as it started to p down!!

7am?!! On a sunday ;-)

I went out at 9am in the piddling rain. My horse is better in bad weather, so actually had a good time and was able to go for an hour or so. It's not so bad when you're out in it, but now I'm in the flat I can't say I want to go out again!

I am so jealous - had to spend the weekend in london so didn't even get so much as a sniff of horse :( wouldn't have minded the rain if i could have just gone for a teensy moment with the ned

barleyboo - i can't believe you wear glasses when riding!! I've tried several times but they always get steamed up - couldn't get contacts so just resort to riding basically half blind in the hope that the horse can see where it's going!!

I couldn't ride without, I'm blind as a bat and our gate goes straight out onto the road. I must admit it's one reason why I don't ride in the rain as often nowadays but I have a hat with a peak so if it's not windy it's not too bad. Also you can get anti-mist spray for specs which works quite well.
