Yesterday I had my 11 yr old daughter out in high viz leading the ride on a 12hh welsh pony, my 5 year old walking leading my 1 eyed deaf terrier and I was at the back walking a 16.2 TB mare in hand when I head a car coming up from behind, there wasn't anywhere to pull in for about 100 yds so I acknowledged them and walked on , the revving then started and was very very close behind my horse, I stood out to give them an evil look but progressed on to get out of their way, more revving and erratic driving up my mares rear, I got all kids and dog etc in just in time as the driver zoomed past, clutch still dipped with big revs and she waves thanks at me..... was a very old lady doing her best not to stall the car, her way of braking was dipping the clutch:D Soooo glad I wasn't out with the baby horse!!..Bless!
 
Hmm, I'm afraid I have a fairly low tolerance of OAP drivers. All for them keeping their independence, but when they become incompetent they should have the grace to hang up their keys IMO.

Passing a youngster on a narrow lane one day, my MIL balanced her clutch and revved madly. The owner was screaming at her! I told her to slip into neutral and get off the gas!
 
Sisters big mare slows down and glares if cars do that to her :D It was so bad one day I honestly thought she was going to stop and sit on the bonnet :eek:. She is a large mare, who is fazed by very little, and has decided views on how traffic should behave. :D
 
Sometimes OAP's on the road are funny! Sounds like a worrying event, but glad everything was ok!

However, it terrifies me that not more is done to make sure they're road worthy :O The Grandmother of a friend of mine still has her car, her keys and her licence...she can't often find the bathroom in a house she's lived in for years :O

Haha more horses need to take a stand I feel!
 
At last years Easter Bonnet ride she was bringing up the rear (this is a ride which we bill as suitable for lead reiners) Along one single track road, pretty much to nowhere, we had a sports car revving behind her, the mare knew she was there to protect the ride from behind, so moved into the middle of the road to make sure the car didn't try to go past the ride :D She is a true superstar :)
 
I hope you reported her to the local police

If she is unable to use the controls correctly then she should be made to get help or stop driving
 
Oh dear :o Glad you were all ok, I have to say our horses don't bat an eyelid in traffic - with the way the Italians drive I need super traffic-proof neds! The other day an elderly man very kindly slowed right down, passed us all very wide and slow, I waved a thank you and he smiled and beeped his horn in recognition :D:rolleyes: You gotta love 'em :)

:D My pony has a habit of stopping and pooing (in his own time naturally) if anything tries to get too close up behind him on single track lanes :D
