im all a bit shook up!..........went to see to Connie this morning, and thought it was weird that she didnt come and greet me, she was just stood with her head down at the back of the stable. I went up to her, and there was blood pouring down her face, and a big hole at the top of her forehead! Bless her, she was so sore.

Called the vet out, and doped her up, and injected an ananesthetic into the area. Cleaned it all out. The hole was alot larger than it first looked, as the vet could stick half his finger into the hole under the skin, and her muscle was visable.

He stitched it up, but did say if her head swells up too much the stiches will burst, so we will have to play it by ear!

Just had to get it off my chest, as im a bit shook up!! I dont know were in the stable she banged her head - think it must have been on the door frame, as the blood is all on her mat by the door.

what a shock first thing in morning sure he will be ok most prob fealing sorry for himself. You have the same luck as me, normally sundays and bank holidays for, needing a vet! Give him an extra hug from me

Oh my goodness poor you!!! sending you lots and lots of vibes and massive hugs. Have a cup of tea and something sweet, always helps me. Hope she is ok ans stitches don't burst. Poor girly. give her lots of pats from me please. :)

My friends mare did this :( Is horrible to experiance but your mare will be fine soon so dont panic :)

Hope shes feeling better asap :)

That must have given you a real fright. Friend of mine had something similar a few years ago, horse smashed its mouth up in its stable overnight - no sign of anything it got caught on though or anything. He was fine though had to have a small op. Hope the wound heals quickly and well.
