What it says on the tin really!

Took Ali out for a short ride despite the wind - she gets very feisty when it's blustery. Anyhow, she surprised me by being very calm and collected:D

We had a nice trot up to the school, then just spent ten minutes doing serpentines and figure of eights. Also practised halting on verbal cue alone, which went well. After that, my OH did a bit of trotting in hand with her, and then we turned her out with her buddies.

Just really nice to be riding again, and on a horse that listens to me rather than tanking off, lol! Hope to be hacking out and doing proper schooling by March, at the latest. Taking our time getting fit first though.

So, anybody else enjoy their Saturday morning?

sounds lovely, I wish I had gone out for a hack, went to dressage instead -wind, rain and taking my daughter (age 4) along was not a good combination even though had loads of mates to help! Very stressful... :(

Went for a lovely hack this morning and had a lovely canter. This may not seem a big deal to some, but I haven't felt 'able' to canter since me and my daughter both came off our horses when they spooked whilst cantering in woods and my daughters horse freaked, ran about 5 miles in a blind panic out onto a busy road and collided with a car. I've not been able to bring myself to have a canter because of the 'what ifs' after seeing his injuries. Think I have now overcome that mental stumbling block!

Loved the hack we went on, mad weather, naughty but we galloped up the local estate land and all huffy and puffy at the end, then went through the woods canter up through open land along side some spooked deer.. then spooked horse, then the weather changed to gale force winds, got back and the sun came out. Watched movies on the sofa in the afternoon and then went out for a curry.. What will today bring?:D

Planning to ride this morning, just for a walk round farm. Horse coming back into work slowly after lami in autumn but with the wind walking may involve the occasional 'spanish riding school manoevere' I think its a levee?
