I assume it is because I am female and 18. That makes me a likely candidate for donations maybe? Anyway, they are doing a national opinion poll regarding vivisection and I didn't mind ticking the boxes and popping it back in the freepost envelope, along with the two pence they tried to offer me.

I think a lot of vivisection is uneccessary - can't we test on rapists instead? And I have a real warm spot for chimps in particular. So I ticked all the boxes they wanted to tick. i believe they are against battery farming, too.

BUT I didn't give a donation after a minutes consideration, because I seem to remember that they are against pet keeping and that is going far too far!

Wallace,

Your sarcasm never ceases to amaze me :)

Seriously Metalmare, they are loonies, they believe that you shouldn't ride your horses either. They are also extremely biased in there video footage. They are extremists and as with any group of people who are extremists they are capable of being dangerous.

''I´d send them a couple of quid, just to be polite.''

Peta,

I doubt whether you could afford a few quid. I didn't think that Income Support was quite so generous.

Seven, you took the words out of my mouth! Yes, they are absolute raving loonies : what amazes me is how many 'celebrities' they get to support them. Remember that video someone linked to on this board a few months back? Peta were actually funding an animal terrorist who was in jail for arson, bombing and the like. They also receive funding from the sinister IFAW. and as with all these 'animal rights' charities, all their employees do very well out of it!

Seriously! They were trying to ban it at one point, its not natural for the horse and they should be set wild and free in a herd! Horses aren't made to carry our weight.

The horses also absolutely HATE being ridden, try telling mine that on a cubbing morning!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These posts are amusing to me. I am 100% against any form of cruelty to animlas. That being said......
If this is true , about PETA thinking that horses should not be ridden and set free in a herd, I am seriously intrigued. I am wondering what PETA thinks will happen to all of these horses. In their natural environment they often starve, become subject to disease...and....well, I could go on forever. If I were a horse I would prefer a domesticated life with a responsible owner & being ridden to a wild life anyday!
As far as the dogs are concerned.......I cannot speak for any neglected animals out there, but I sure can speak for my spoiled doggie!!!!!!! Lady Bug would like to say that she has a very loving and comfy life and the only slave in the house is ME to HER! She would prefer not to be let out tonight with the wild cyotes....she wants her yummy dinner and her warm mommy to cuddle with when she is tired. :smirk:

I am keeping in mind however, that I have never heard PETA say any of theses things...I am only basing it on what I have read here today. I am sure that PETA is also responsible for some very noble efforts on behalf of all of the animals in the world.
