Evening all,
Thanks to all for their kind words and support in my post about my bolshy youngster who won't respect my personal space. Lexis-Magic suggested putting some stones in a tin and shaking them to get her to respect personal space.
Well, my GOODNESS! It worked instantly! The first time I shook it she bolted off round the field, but she came straight back and almost instantly learnt that if she came too close she got shaken at. I think because the noise wasn't coming from ME she was happy to still be with me but she did immediately respect my space. From then onwards every time she got near to me, I said STOP and shook it a little tiny bit so she knew that I meant it. Et voila!!!
She also is IMMEDIATELY much better at "back" and is now doing it at the tiniest suggestion.
I'm also using it as my "punishment" to push her "out of the herd" - when she's naughty I shook it like mad so she ran away from me - then when she is showing signs of being "sorry", I let her back to me.
Anyway, a BIG thank you to Lexis Magic and also to this forum for the support.
Hope this idea might home someone else! xxxxx
