Have to say the big lad got it pretty quick. I made him a target stick from a whip and a old supplement lid attached onto the handle end.

We started off doing click/treat about 30 times, he was very interested in the food so I was glad he was behind stable door! I waited till his head was away from me before clicking/treating again.

I then gave him a very short break before bringing the target stick out, the first time he touched it because he was curious so clicked/treated, the next 2/3 times I placed it so he bumped into it by accident when he moved his nose - click/treat and after that he was actively touching it :-) only did this for five mins and stopped when he'd done a really good one.

Big smiles :-))

sounds like a great first session :D :D :D

the eagerness might lead to a little mugging as you found out but they do soon learn the rules ... no click no treat ;) and if you always present the treat away from you and at arms length they less likely to bring head in towards you to "mug".;)

clever gal (both of you :D:D:D:D)
