Had saddler out today-dreading informing OH!

As title said had saddler out to check my saddle on my new horse. Seemed ok, just a wider gullet but saddle in general ok. So saddler showed me how to get to plate to adjust it and noticed the whole metal work on the LHS had sheared off! Not sure how it happened, but would certainly account for loss of muscle on that side. So, new thorowgood saddle required.
OH hates horses, especially any money that needs to be spent, doesn't approve of saddlers so he'll not be happy with this.
Then I get saddler to check daughters pony saddle, I've never been happy with it, seems to perch on him. Bought it new for £575, had it checked six months later (about year ago), saddler took it away to adjust, quoting me £70. When it was finally ready after about a month she charged me £190! When saddler today (different one BTW) looked, she said it it totally the wrong shape for him and would feel very insecure to ride in. How do I tell OH this, bearing in mind his mistrust of all things horsey?

Just ask him does he want you or your daughter to get launched off said horses when the saddles hurt them? lol.

Why does he hate them so much, if they make you happy? Not very nice
Tell him he has to like it or lump it that's what I do with my fella, he knows his place in the pecking order

Don't tell him? Haha mine would be exactly the same, I have a horse account which is mine all mine (often dangerously low!) and then it's none of his business!

OH is a farmer and very anti-horse. Plus when he goes on about how much they cost, a part of me thinks he has a point although I would NEVER admit that haha!

Or tell him it was twice as much, then halfway through him kicking off say 'oh dear you must have misheard me, I meant £xx. Plus I got a discount.'

So funny trying to get horsey activities past OH!
I don't envy you this one tho!
