I havent ridden Bondi for ages, as I felt he was a bit too much for me but his owner called me in the week and asked if I'd like a lesson on him so I thought why not!

And he was a superstar. The last time I rode himin the school, I was terrified. The thought of trotting him brought me out in a cold sweat let alone cantering him.

Yesterday we worked on direct transtions on circles, to get me to relax with him and get him listening to me and working properly.

And we cantered.

He didn't feel too strong, he felt very under control and felt very calm. He was working beautifully and I cant wait to have my next lesson on him.

:) Well done! Sounds great!
Must have missed this as been on this damn site all day (utterley fed up and de-motivated at work!)!!!

Its such a nice feeling when you get over something that has terrified you!

There was a horse I rode a year ago at the barracks, had a wonderful summer full of fantastic rides and lovely canters (with brakes!) then had two scary and terrifying rides resulting in a knee injury! Not had the confidence to get back on her since until a few weeks ago when they were short of riders and asked me to do 3 in one morning. Got on her first, made myself ride her forward and didnt think about before and she was an ANGEL! Cant wait for her to get back from grass to ride again!

Wonderful feeling - nice one HH :)

Thank you!

Its just that feeling overcoming that fear isnt it! And you sort of go "what was wrong with me!! haha"

EXACTLY!!!

At the time I was like "I thought I could ride :mad:"
but now im like "god im an idiot! :D"

Though I have to say she was a different horse on those two rides, seriously nasty. She wasn't playing or kicking out her legs as many of them do after being stood in a stall all day and night she wanted me OFF! LOL

Great feeling when it all works out though!
