went up to ride and look after merlin after netball practice, so up later than normal.

the YO had taken the bandages off his legs for me, so that any swelling in his legs would show. so take him out of stable and run my hands down his legs, and find slight heat in the front one (which i think has always had) and the off-side hind was sore around his cut (which he had cut into again yesterday) and on the near hind funny scab like things which is like mud fever but isnt (?!?) so trotted him up after taking rugs off, and didnt seem lame, but didnt feel right and thought i saw a slight bobbing, so asked the YO to take a look.
she agreed that there was something not quite right, so the back man is coming out to check his back as we have an inklinkling that that is the prob in his hindquaters

then was talking to friend and noticed lumps under his belly, so checked his hernia and then ran my hand over the bumps and seemed like an allergy, so then applied more pressure and it was very sore then, and he tried to get away from the pain

he was then very tucked up, so rang vet to come out and check him over.

vet came out and took his temp, which was midly high

which he wasnt expecting, so then checked his heart rate and eyes and all fine, so he said that we should give him some steroids and he should be fine

*know it should be in veterinary but more people here*

The rash could be mud fever on his belly. It happened to mine recently and he had the same symptoms. I put hibbiscrub on it. The swelling and soreness were gone within a week. His hair fell out where the rash had been though. Apparently it's quite common with all the wet weather we've been having.
