The vets receptionist actually said it was a 1st!!
I come in and she says hi and brings up my details (I've been in there too much recently with the nail problems) and asks what the problem is...... and I say.....
"Harley's lost his voice"!!!!!!
She fell about laughing as did everyone in the waiting room!!!! How rude!

She then asked me to clarify and I said when he is "expressing himself" (ie whinging and squeaking with excitement) he either can't or is very croaky. She thougth this was just brilliant and apparently I am the 1st to have ever gone in and said that and she has worked in there for years!!
(This has been going on since last night. We thought he had been whining/barking at the spare bedroom window as we also discovered yesterday he has found out he can look through it and see what is going on. I decided to go to the vet tonight because he didn't eat his food quite so quickly at tea time. Wanted it, but was tentative)
Anyway, my lovely vet also thought it was very funny!! Checked him all over and couldn't find anything wrong with him. So that's good.
I just told them that other dogs obviously aren't as expressively vocal as Harley is!!! ha ha ha!
