We were on our way back from a fabulous trek out with hubs, Shy me and the dogs all knackered, Shy in his trailer. And  there he was. As an ex-Inspector, I always seem to see these things...

A 15.2 hh bay tb type boy, of body score no more than 0.5. His pelvis was literally at right angles, rib cage fully on show, his spine was showing as if dropped by inches. Absolutely awful. I made hubs go and look too, and he came back and just said "call em". In a field in the middle of no-where, but with a headcollar on.

The RSPCA may know all about him (elderly/sick), but there was no way I could pass that poor chap and not say anything. Not seen anything that bad for years tbh. Put a bad taste on a lovely afternoon.

huge *sigh*.

Ah naff hon. At least you did the right thing by him though. Will the RSPCA get back to you as the person who reported it and let you know?

They said they would let me know. And I'll keep you posted.

Poor poor chap. It's bloomin awful round here - too many horses, too many un-interested owners. :(

it did cross my mind to slip him into the trailer......;) Maybe if they need to rehome him......but the way he looked, I don't think he'll be going far, poor lad. I can't believe that I'll be the only one to have called, or do most peeps just walk on by ? Yup, they do I guess

thats awful- alot of people walk past in my area as nothing gets done. Believe me, after watching a distressed colicing tethered cob in the snow with no food and water be left cos 'theres nothing we can do im sorry' is the type of thing alot of us seem to hear alot of the time :(

Hope he gets sorted thepoor lad :(
