Was just googling quickly for any tips on over excited spaniels, in case internet-land had any amazing knowledge that I hadn't thought of (it doesn't:rolleyes:)

Anyway, came upon this thread on another forum, quite an old one, about a cocker that had got overexcited playing with a child in the park and had nipped the kid's bum (oops, naughty!). We won't go into what the owner was doing allowing his dog to run around in the park with strange children etc because we'll be here all day, and that wasn't what made me laugh.

First response - confidently stated that 'cockers used to be used for herding cattle and they nipped their heels and this is still in them' (have paraphrased there as the spelling was atrocious, as was the grammar, but you get the jist...)

Errm - isn't that CORGIS?! Pretty sure cockers weren't bred as cattle dogs...:D:D

Which just goes to show that internet advice can be a dangerous thing;)

Lol how confused would the cows be, being herded by a cocker - "OMG, I want you to go left, no no right, oh hang on what's this, oh a bit of poo - nom, now wait, no I mean faster, oh look a puddle, how pretty I am......" :D

MM, you are right, all this time I have been trying to do gundog training and all I needed was to find a herd of cows:eek::o
