Have had to put Hazel up for sale, the little grey filly I bought, I really hate myself for doing it, but think it is the best decision.

She was sending Jerry wild, it reached the point last night where I left her in, they are in separate fields, but he still goes loopy over her, he is my priority so I have to put him first, and she was going to be sold in a years time anyway so it made no sense to keep her and stress out Jerry, he is just head over heals in love with her, and is becoming more and more unmanageable.

I feel awful selling her so soon, but I know is best, just have to find her a super new mum and hope she is ok.

No more mares for me, for Jerry's state of mind I will have to stick to geldings in future. Please tell me what I am doing isnt unfair, I really didn't see this happening

Definately the right thing to do - there is no point trying to manage in this situation - for you and your horses' safety.

I'm sure you will find a lovely new home for her.

I'd say you are doing the right thing. My gelding was getting quite dangerous to take away from the yard as he too was also in love with a mare and stressed out when she called him. She has now gone to another yard, much to my relief, and my boy is a 100% better now. I was beginning to think that I may have to sell him but luckily she's the one that's moved on.
