I had a call from my friend. Their yard was targeted by thieves last night. They attempted to steal a haflinger but were unable to load it in the cattle trailer (which they were also trying to steal). All other horses, tack and equipment were ignored and police suspect that they were stealing the horse to order.

Not trying to worry anyone but I have a haffy and was glad that she told me so I can inform my yard to be extra vigilant.

This was near Worthing in West Sussex .

That's frightening! Was the horse freezemarked?

They might have just thought the haffy was a possible and been disturbed, haffies are rarely very high value and very distinctive (even though they all look alike, they are easy to spot in a herd).

Good point but better safe than sorry :-)
