Haflinger query???

Just a quick one.....

Was showing off new loan pony to good friend today... ad she asked what she was. I told her a haflinger and she said that she couldnt possibly be as she didnt have a dorsal stripe!!!

I have not heard this is a necessity..... is it???

Just wondered who is correct (although hope its me)!!

Haflinger's are palomino not dun (dorsal stripe! mostly) was she confusing the breed with a Fjord or a Highland - which would both have stripes if dun (not all Highlands are dun..)

None of the ones at the haflinger stud by me have a dorsal stripe.

All the haflingers ive rode have never had a dorsal stripe!!

Dont know if you can see? Theres no stripe down her back.

Actually, a haflinger is chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, and not palomino. And no, they don't tend to have dorsal stripes.
