At the end of the autumn, I was feeling distinctly "meh" about riding my mare...so i gave myself (and her) some time off until after Christmas. Then the rubbish weather intervened, and I couldn't ride because it was too cold, then it was Christmas, and i was away on and off for ages. Now its freezing cold and icy, and I am too protective of her to risk her slipping on the way to the school.

Now i am absolutely desperate to get back on my girl and start work again. Does anyone else feel like this, after a bit iof a "meh" autumn?
 
yeah me!! I've had a few weeks off really, apart from one walk round the block in the snow.

and now im etching to get back on with it, i;ve actually ridden both days this weekend!! Shocking stuff!
 
I feel exactly the same. My boy had a sore back September time and started riding during December a few times but I can't wait for the snow to go so i can ride again.
 
I know the feeling! I love my horses dearly, but sometimes I wonder if all of the hard work, tied commitment, hassle, cost and heart ache is worth it.

I broke my ankle in July and my OH has been looking after my two for me. It's killing me - I hate not being with them everyday. In some respects I am pleased this time off has happened, it has made me appreciate my horses so much more, and I now know, I could never be without them! xx

Know what you mean,but my lad always gets 12 wks off through the winter,i cant be assed with this winter shite

Some girls on the yard were pushing for me to ride once a wk,before we had the big snow/freeze...personally i dont see the point,he is either in work or he isnt,hopefully i will start again end of this month

Very small,lol...looked round there couple yrs ago but he had no stables free and we had a 3 mile walk from field to tie up area to use school,lol
