Horses seem to have a habit of showing us up dont they?! Rode Ethel today and it was the first time she'd been in the school with another horse and she was really good. As she was being good and the other day I was doing all the riding school stuff like round-the-world, I decided to show my friend how good she was .. Started my round-the-world as you do and all was fine until I was facing backwards and I lost my balance so put my hand on her bum to regain it, thinking she'll be fine as I always pat her bum as we're riding round and she's never done anything .. but nooo, Ethel cantered off bucking with me sitting on her backwards with no stirrups or reins, I stayed on for 3 or 4 bucks and then flew off and landed splat on my back, hit my head a bit too. I got up and laughed about it, but maybe now I've learnt not to try and show off how good my 3yo thoroughbred ex racer is
