Hair extensions for manes

Just a quick question, my mare has rubbed out a huge chunk of her mane and we are off to a show, I thought About making false plaits but think putting in a weave and then plaiting it would look. Better, I know I can buy a horse hair weave online, but I already have some old human hair extensions. Bearing in mind the difference in thickness of the hair would this look ok, has anyone else done this or should I just buy horse horse hair ones?

I would have thought to look as natural as possible, horse hair would be best. Although i would check with the society you are showing with first to see whether it is permitted as i know for most it is not allowed.
