How do you all remove the hair off your numnahs before washing them?! Any tips and tricks?

Also how do you remove bits of hay, mud etc from velcro? My turnout boots are losing their stick because of things being caught in them.

Thanks ?

I bought a soft/fine wire bristle brush from Homebase, and it’s great at removing hair from numnahs / bandages / boots etc, and cleaning out Velcro so it looks like new! Just go easy around the stitching.

I got a hair remover brush in my Alan Davies tack set (birthday gift!) and it’s fab at removing hair. Never needed to clean Velcro can’t help with that one.

For the hair - just put on a rubber glove and "stroke" the hairs off. The tackyness of the rubber pulls all the hairs off really well.

A pair of tweezers and a whole afternoon.

I don't have much velcro, and what I do have is not on things I wear for riding, so I don't have the problem you describe, but I wonder if a file card might work.
