Has anyone else's horse grown an exceptional coat this winter? Mine looks like the mammoth on Ice Age! He is usually fairly wooly but this year he seems even more so!

My hairy boy is no hairier this year than others, but it does annoy me that he finishes losing his winter coat in mid-June and then starts growing his winter coat in mid-August, so I only get a few weeks of nice summer coat each year. Rugging him makes no difference at all except makes his coat lie a bit flatter, it doesn't make him less hairy, which I find extremely frustrating. He rarely sweats so I'd feel bad if I clipped him (and he's a native so not meant to be clipped for the show ring anyway!!)

Mine's not a native but rarely sweats for long either! May just give in and clip once next winter.
