So today my pair of chaps have up after nearly a year. Anyone know of half chaps that will last longer than a year?
Bit fed up with constantly buying them now!
Depends how posh you want. My Shires synthetic suede ones have been going for well over a decade. They get tossed in the washing machine every couple of years but are otherwise thoroughly neglected.
I have Tuffa suede half chaps. I bought a pair when I began learning to ride in 2002. They are now smooth and shiny where my leg touches the horse. I bought the same for OH and her wore them for years as well.
I’ve had some leather and suede Ariat chaps for years. I tend to only wear in the summer with my Devon pros though as wear my Grasmeres mainly in the winter. They don’t go over my Terrains though as the ankle is too chunky. I’ve also got some synthetic ones from Just Chaps and they’re good quality. I got them for a riding holiday where they’d potentially get wet a lot. Wore them with walking boots and wear them with my Terrains. They wash well too.
Tredstep, granted I only tend to wear them in summer now when it's too warm for my Bromonts, but they're 10 years old and if I cleaned them they'd still be fairly smart
