I've recently been told that my horse should have a half pad under his saddle, because of his sensitive back.
I'm on the journey of fixing his saddle because of poor saddle fit, this means that the pad that I'm choosing is not going to affect the saddle fit.
What I was wondering, what is the best half pad? I've been looking into a thin wool one, I'm not too fond of memory foam as they sink after a little while and lose their shape. Thank you:)

Depends on what your after. I use a shimable sheepskin one, think it is Lemieux. My saddle fitter really rates prolite pads too. There was one that I saw recently advertised on Facebook which looked good and seemed to be an excellent shock absorber (but eye-wateringly expensive) will see if I can find the link for you.

Not sure if you are looking to make the saddle fit better or protect the back? I rate the VIP for sensitive backs and it doesn't affect the fit of the saddle. For a temporary fix for a saddle I've got the Le mieux gel front riser half pad and it does a good job if Rose has lost a bit of weight. I've also got a prolite iwth different shims, which I don't like so much but it does the job on a temporary basis. Le Mieux do a gel half pad which is not a corrector pad but it does need to be fitted with the saddle. Both of the Le Mieux's have a sheepskin trim so look very smart.
