Hi,

I've been feeding biotin for a couple of months now. But I thought the advice on the tub, to feed 4 scoops regardless of size, was crazy and, being cynical, was probably aimed at getting you to finish the tub sooner and buy more!!

So I've been feeding two scoops and there are no longer any chips in the horn, the feet aren't wearing so quickly and are just stronger all round.

Seems half rations is fine for a 14hh barefoot pony.

Does anyone else feed reduced rations of supplements?

Actually I feed double the quantity on the tub (120g) of biotin but then again BP is 18.2hh and approx 900kg with utterly horrendous feet! We tried taking it back down to the recommended dosage but within a couple of months his feet were showing signs of wear again and only now (about 9 months later) are his feet back up to a decent state. I think you do have to use a bit of common sense as your pony will have completely different nutritional requirements than mine.
