Halfway through a 2 day event

Today we have been to Soneleigh riding club 2 day event.
After a fab lesson on Thursday and a great BE regional intro result[25], we went full of confidence but he was much too well and excited as we go to Offchurch to gallop sometimes and he thought that was going to happen. I walked for ages trying to get him to chill and he started to relax and in trot he was swinging and feeling ok, then I stopped to have my spurs put on ,mistake, we then had to go in and the judge had been waiting as they were running early and I didn't want to go in too early,so hooted immediately. Test tense and couldn't put my leg on at all.[40]
Waited for show jumping and he was staring at everything going on, warmed up with him listening to everything but me ,then jumped a lovely clear giving every jump a foot to spare.
Then we were allowed to ride round road and tracks which he needed, and walked xc which is very nice, so hope he relaxes a bit tomorrow or he will wear himself out!
We are 6th at the moment just hope it goes well tomorrow as it is raining hard and farrier never put stud holes in this time as we weren't there to remind him

Oh honey what a shame about the dressage you rode so well on Thur and you really got it.

You should'nt ever let yourself be rushed into an arena before your time if you are,nt ready. The judge won't mind, thats why you are given times! If you are happy to go then thats fine but otherwise stick to your time.So in future you know to sick to your time and your plan.

Pouring with rain so not good. She did wait till her time but as soon as she went to arena judge wanted her in as she had been kept waiting.
He was VERY excited yesterday which drives her mad she did keep calm but she knows he can do so much better but his temperament is difficult ,you have only seen him being relaxed he can be the opposite .Whilst Rafi is always the same. Can we try the saddle on Rafi, please ?
