Hm.... weirdly I'm going to contradict the person above....

I think the XC is quite stiff for a Pre-novice and that the showjumping is more forgiving!

(Look out for the shotgun cartridge into the wood and the fence after it!)

It's fairly big and bold but very inviting and rides well. The shotgun cartridges at fence 3 can cause a problem if your horse is a bit nappy, it's quite bright and the first fence away from the other horses.

Hambleden is one of my favourite courses.

There is a big ditch pallisade at the end of the course.

Last time we went to the PC (3 years ago, have done the BE for past 2 years) the SJ was huge (this was when there was only level 5) out of 160 competitors there were 16 clears. (Luckily for us B and another of our team both jumped clear)

Maybe they have softened the SJ since then.

I liked it, although wished it had had a few jumps (there were 15 numbers). Three (brightly coloured jump) and four (the biggest jump on the course) were probably the hardest on the course, but i thought it was lovely course overall
