Just eating my dinner and been in about half hour!! I am shattered after a 5am start today as we wasnt sure what the traffic would be like in a weekday!

So went and look at the showjumping, some spreads looked quite up to height (certainly Spiders biggest course to date!!) And looked very bright, then on to cross country, no 1,2,3 were up to height and wasnt ideal with Spidey setting off a bit wobbly lately!! Especially no 3 (gun cartridges BRIGHT red and gold!

) Anyway the rest looked fine.

Warmed up for dressage and she went really well scoring a very good 35.5

Was pretty shocked as it didnt deserve that!! But oh well.

Couple of hrs to wait thenon to SJing, Spider warmed up lovely and went in a jumped her socks off!!! Just have one pole and an oxer when mummy asked her to take an impossible long stride!

was very pleased.

On to Macs SJing, he was good until the double which was quite spooky, he backed off and had both parts down!!

again in shock!! (he is a grade A!) And shouldnt be looking at things like that.

So on to XC and was quite nervous as was Spiders 1st proper PN and she has been a bit spooky lately! So set off nicely, popped no 1, and no 2, then had a good look and stopped at no 3, could prob of done it from standstill but want her to have confidence, so cirlced she popped it and off we went, cleared 4 and 5, then came no 6 and she heard a child in the park on teh right and I had a hesitation at that, off straight down teh steps, over the W fence straight up the steps and off over the log and the log double, there was then a new fence I think where the PN jumped to the right (bit of a dodgy line) of a complex, she jumped that lovely then through the water and home, and clearing the big ditch and palisade lovely!!! I have 2 excellent pics I will post. So was CHUFFED!! She still isnt 5 until next month and tried her heart out today!! Very pleased.

Then on to mac XC, who was a little naughty and had a dirty stop at no 4 - very strange.

But was clear round the rest

So have decided not to buy Mac after all as he wasnt very comfortable XC today and got deep to everything!! So he will probably go next week

someone is going to try him for YR Sjing and I will get something else to event and bring on and sell which will be nice. I get so much satisfaction from bringing on the youngsters

Well done Holly! It was a lovely day there, I think I saw you on Mac in the SJ, he looked great, shame about the double! Well done you must be pleased with Spider, fence 3 is very spooky for baby 5 year olds!

Yes was a lovely day and a gorgeous event, will def go back.

Although SJ stewarding was a bit of a nightmare!! But I wont spoil a good day and moan about that!!

Yes that jump is quite spooky for babies! Im soo soo excited about her she tries so much, bless her
smile.gif

How did your horse do, didnt you have a baby in the Pn with someone?

Yes he was good boy, put a little report above! Yes... I agree, the stewarding was errr interesting to say the least!

Oh well done thats great so chuffed for you!! Sorry to here your not keeing Mac any more so the best of luck with looking for something new
smile.gif
Lokking forward to pics!

Pics are in gallery now!!

No didnt get placed on Spider because of hesittaion but anyway the section were very very hot today!! Lots of Pros there today!

Saw Spidy through the water, she was looking good and really settled into her stride by then.

BTW don't be too crocc with Mac. Willough very rarely stops and stopped ar fence 4 at the pC event last year. Was double clear today though.

We were not impressed with the dressage judge either. Just seemed to focus on contact and head carriage and no comments on the backend. She consistently gets 7's for her free walk as although her head is not staedtily stretched she has a massive overtrack and swings right through. Got a 5 today.

She was also marked down for being close behind in he final halt! I thought this was dressage NOT showing.

Was in season though much to the delight of the large number of stallions that were around.

Yes she was, takes her a few fences to get settled, but really cant ask more for her age and amount she has done!

Lovely event wasnt it, saw your daughter was double clear that was cool

Well done Hol.
Good round for your two beasties.
Shame youve decided not to buy Mac after his one blip! afterall, last week he was a winner, horses are allowed to have the odd off day.

Spiders pics are lovely.

Well done Spider - she is sounding better and better, esp considering her age. We had loads of single stops our first season at PN, and S was 6 by that stage. Hasn't had one since though. Super dressage score!!

True but I think it gave us a reality check, he was winning at a lower level and just seemed to SJ all the XC fences at Hambledon!! And it wasnt so comfortable as they were bigger!! He went up then down! not accros the fence bless him!! He will be going off to SJ again though and I will have another one to bring on and sell I think it will be a 6yr old mare who has Carousel in her somewhere!! (Spiders sire) so we will see!

Thats sounds nice HJ. Thats the trouble with some showjumpers- they go up and then down so struggle at the wider fences on XC.
A six year old will be nice for you to run along side spider then. Its nice keeping it in the family- my 3 are all related!
