I am starting to look for a yard for my horse for the winter (on Loan at moment) any idea's loved the old yard but too many sad memories not sure how i feel about going back, local to Denmead area would be great as less time traveling more time riding :-)

I know denmead like the back of my hand and hopefully be able to help you out.
Pm me if you prefer

Hi

Smaller private yard if poss
not worried about school good safe grazing more important no busy main roads and not along from the Bird in hand Pub towards Clanfield horrible road as my 1st pony with new owner was hit on that road and was put down a year later
i have been on list for Clarendon farm since last year as 2 mins down the road but no spaces

Not keen on the yards in the Furzley corner area due to the clay heavy fields (chestnut with white legs)

DIY with poss of paying for turning or bringing in when both me and hubby are working late or early

Do have 2 young school age children who will be with me some times

Yard would be best if it has a good routine as in 1st one up puts breakfasts in so no one is left out

Erm.. right thinking cap on I know them all pretty much but figuring out what would suit you...
My lad loved Clarendon I was there for 4 yrs, have you been in contact again with Daphne? as I know someone thats just moved her horse up there just recently.. maybe worth a try again as it is a good yard I had no drama's with it my boy was happiest there.

Denmead is mainly all clay sadly, I have been to a number of yards there even up to Newtown just past denmead is also clay ground :(

Barry fillers is a great lil yard again my boy was very settled there for the year we were there, only down side is winter turnout is down sheepwash lane so little trek, however they do tend to the horses throughout the day and there is turnout for summer in the yard, lovely school and great hacking of course :

Denise Hillmans yard - Furzely Hill farm.. know a few people up there that enjoy it and have turnout, and school.

Woodcroft - Jenny.. IMO steer clear great grazing all round just she's a bit nuts!

Not sure about the little yard up from Clarendon on the right handside... can't remember the name of it now, It used to do livery not sure if they do DIY still but great little yard and have school, small paddocks but yr round turnout.

There is also Hambledon which have some great yards Hill house is a good one so is the one opposite Amanda someone runs it... on the hill... again great grazing and have good school.

Newtown - there are a few yards this way too which again are all good.

All vary in price, there are some small private yards around too but you'd be better off travelling around them.
So many to mention I can picture them all in my head lol.

If I can think of any more that will suit I'll let you know, in fact I'll ask my friend who is at Clarendon if there is space.

Thank you Clarendon had a huge waiting list with people on the yard waiting for 2nd stables fingers crossed maybe the list is starting to move

Trip back this week might be worth it

The yard up is Broadway but i think it is limited turn out and used to be no children nice yard might of changed over the years

Its just such a mine field i have lived here 8 years but kept my mare in Emsworth and then January -October in Exton Warnford area

Many thanks for sharing

Hope you manage to find somewhere, hope I have helped you a little. Try the yard next to Clarendon its next to the thatched cottage - that place scares me lol but sure the owner lets her stables out now.
