Hamster advice/ vibes

I think my hamster has rectal prolapse…. she has a tube of bloody tissue hanging out of her that looks like intestine. I have her booked in at the vets but 4 was the earliest they could do.

I have never had this happen to a hamster before and I am really worried - has anyone had experience of this? is there any chance she will live, she is only about 6 months old and I love her to bits.

She still seems exactly the same, lively and collecting food and drinking. I just don’t know what to expect and would appreciate some vibes for my poor Souxie Soux

I mused to breed hamsters and this always used to be quite a common problem, when we all used that cottonwool-type bedding. As the hamster stuffed his cheeks with it, some inevitably got swallowed.
Some of mine survived and some didn't. It's always dicey as they are such tiny creatures.
How did you get on?

I am affraid she didnt make it

she was still happy and full of life when the vet put her down. he said if she had come in the morning she could have been mended

Hugs for you and shame on the vets for not letting you take her earlier..... sounds like they knew it would have been more sucessful the earlier she was seen
