Some may remember I posted about my Shetland being slightly lame.

Took her down vets and it's thought she's pulled or strained her hamstrings or something in both hinds. Fast forwards few weeks and she was seen by the chiropractor on the 2nd March where unfortunately she was quiet sore and lame so the vet came back out. I've box rested since March 2nd and on vets advise carrying on with box rest till the 20th whilst giving 1/2 sachet of Bute twice daily with little short in hand walks just to have some grass.

I'm seeing no improvement what so ever, I'm unable to even stroke her hind legs without her spinning at me, kicking out, running away and then starts shaking all over. She's 100% happy to walk/trot/canter and have a good old bronc when she has a loose five minutes on the yard (my yards grass) my chiropractor feels I need to have a very good talk to my vets and either go down the route of scans/X-rays or whatnot or turn her out and away for a while, however the second opinion makes things difficult regarding when she needs farrier!

I just wanted to know has anyone dealt with hamstring issues in both hind legs and how long did the recovery take?

I'm thinking along the lines of a 8hh Shetland being on 1/2 Bute twice daily for about three weeks now she shouldn't be feeling discomfort when touching/picking up hind legs. Or will she? Please tell me positive things, I'm starting to feel very deflated about all this now, my vet probarly thinks I'm a massive pain in the bum and I dread to think what she thinks when she sees my name come up on her phone (I'm most likely being over sensitive with that part, I'm a very insecure person and worry a lot what people think) I dread phoning my veterinary practice right now tbh :( I know having a large amount of horses see's more issues likely to be had but I've had what it seems to be nothing but issue after issue since last May.
