Horse hasn't much grazing so i have been taking her down the lane and 'hand grazing' her - ie, she is in a headcollar and leadrope and i'm standing there while she is munching on grass. I did it for an hour last night and half an hour this morning. Will this make any difference to either my horse's weight (im trying to put weight on her) or give her vits/mins from the grass? or am i wasting my time?

Grass = natural diet of horses! So yes it will be doing her good!
its also good for her teeth as its wears them down better than hay or haylage due to better water content!

however in terms of weight, I am not sure if it will make a huge dramatic diffference, but it will definetly not be doing any harm!

If she isn't on much grazing and is underweight then you need to supplement that with hay or haylage. Also feed her a good conditioning feed. Baileys No 4 is excellent for weight gain.

An hour or 30 mins a day is not going to be enough to build your horse back up if she hasn't got access to plenty of ad lib fibre etc in the meantime.
