hand held clippers?

Hi,
has anyone every used them?
pip is petrified of the battery ones and anything that actuall works! i thought about the manual ones but someone told me they were not worth even trying?
has anyone any advice?

Exactly... Don't even try them, you would never be able to clip a horse with them. Electric operate at around 2500/3000 strokes a minute, hand held probably 80 per min. Only useful for trimming whiskers!!

Hand clippers would be a waste of time & they will hurt. When I was a kid all barbershops used hand clippers & OMG did they hurt. They don't cut the hair they pull it out by the roots!!!
Additionally as K9Wendy says it would take hours using them to clip a horse. I'm afraid it will have to be twitch or sedation to clip yours by the sound of it. Good Luck
