I have some shoes I wanted painting as christmas presents - have left a little late, does any one know anyone who does them please. Ideally local to essex / herts as would rather drop of then post as time is ticking on.

Have you tried FB by any chance, there is a group on there call Chit Chat and Tack and they have thousands of members who do all sorts of things with horsey stuff. Its the only thing that I can think of, they might come up with a name of someone that might be able to help. Good luck with it .

Another company called Eqwine on FB look good, but I think they wanted orders for Xmas early.

If you're just wanting them painting, why not do it yourself, its not difficult. We did loads for our wedding, we brushed them down with a wire brush then sprayed them with silver spray paint meant for car wheels (get it at Halfords etc).

If you cover them with car spray paint and then entwine them with ribbons and tiny flowers (can be bought dried off ebay) they look fantastic. Fix the ribbon so you get a loop at the top to hang the shoe with.
