Just got this bit of kit and it's so handy I thought I'd share in case its useful for anyone. I've a horse in with hock wounds and I've been destroyed constantly vet wrapping wounds at various stages of healing. I ordered this conformable bandage and it's been a life saver! really soft, and doesn't move. it's been brilliant for holding dressings in place and allowing me to see if they slip.

That looks like a useful addition to the yard first aid kit, thank you for posting. Did you use the solid or vented version for hocks? I presume just to hold dressings in place the 'medium' compression level was adequate?

yes I got the vented as I need to hold iodine patches in place to allow wounds air to dry and close. I got the medium size with low compression and very happy with the compression level, its snug but very soft and stretchy. it's very useful for checking if dressings have slipped or need to be changed. would easily go around any part of the leg and conform to it

I'd be curious about the solid version, my concern would be things might get clammy or too hot under it? but I haven't seen one in person, so haven't a clue how it would actually work, might be much thinner that the vented

What a great piece of kit. I would have been really skeptical about it working if it hadn't of been recommended.
I wouldn't have thought it any better than tubigrip (which isn't great for hocks IME as the joint area varies so widely in circumference), but from the info posted by the OP it sounds like a really useful bit of kit.

yes I'd been using a lot of tubigrip on this particular horse for some stages of healing where the wound had to get air but found the tubigrip very frustrating. it would go too tight around the swelling and then too loose in rest of hock. would slip way too much and would also get quite dirty if horse lay down. it wasn't quite tight enough to hold the slimmer dressings in place as well. so this is 100% better than the tubigrip. the contact around hock stays very snug and even. horse has had a very long rehab and recovery, so I've tried every bit of equipment I could research and was delighted when I spotted this.
